So here’s where I’d mention the horcrux (like others probably have) and say, “Oh, the piece of Voldemort’s soul made him super terrible.”

But Ron is the worst when he wears it. This isn’t subjective, it’s how J.K. describes it. Ron is the worst when he wears the horcrux (and even without it). He’s the one who can’t deal with not getting a full meal three times a day (boo-fucking-hoo, shoulda thought of that before you went on the run). He is the worst.

I know someone is going to say, “But the books are from Harry’s point of view and of course Harry is going to think he’s great all the time.” Fuck you, Harry is pretty self-aware and doesn’t turn in to as much of a dickhead as Ron.

Ron is basically the privileged guy who doesn’t realize his own privilege, which automatically makes him an asshole.
